International & Other Interstate Flights
Fly to Perth if you can't catch a direct regional flight. Perth has many international and interstate connections. From there, you can rent a car or hop on a coach bus.
Coach Bus
Catch the bus! Check out South West Coachlines or TransWA for services from the airport and Perth centre.
Fly Direct: Sydney & Melbourne
Catch a flight directly from Sydney or Melbourne to our local airport, the Busselton Margaret River Airport, 10 minutes from Busselton centre. Flights with Jetstar run every 2-3 days/week. You can rent a car at the airport.
Drive
We are 2.5 hours south of Perth and 5 hours north of Albany. There is plenty of parking in Busselton central to access all the weekend's programs. Be mindful of kangaroos and other wildlife while driving on country roads at night.
Carpool Locally
Once you're down amongst it, join the Facebook Group to connect with other BDS attendees and locals for ride sharing and accommodation things.
Getting Around
In 2026, our event is a primarily one venue event located in Busselton Center. This means that getting around will be easier with lots of walking distance possibilities to the event, local eateries, and some attractions. On BDS Tuesday, we will organise some guided sightseeing activities to help you get to key attractions.
Public Transport is not our strong suit in the South West. If you plan to sightsee during and after the event on your own, we recommend ensuring you have access to a car, whether that's by ride-sharing with other attendees or your own. Join the BDS Community Facebook Group to connect with others and find carpooling opportunities.
See and Do
Go for a wine tasting, get up close and personal with whales, lose yourself in the forest or a cave, take it slow at a long lunch degustation.
There's so much to do outside the weekend program! We've compiled a HUGE map of personalised recommendations and favourites below. If that's not enough for you, we recommend exploring the Margaret River tourism page for plenty more info and inspiration.
Or you can check out some of our personal recommendations half or full day "self-tours" on The Region page.
