FAQ
Should I wait to book accommodation until I get my ticket?
No! It's a long weekend in September and the South West is a very popular tourist destination. Things book our quickly and the prices incerase from there. We recommend booking flexible accommodation as soon as possible for the best possible rates. The South West does not have many hotels so B&Bs and motels are good options. Check out the Travel page for discounted Busselton Hilton bookings.
How many tickets are available?
Pass numbers are still being workshopped. We tentatively expect a maximum capacity of around 400 people.

Will there be more than one ticket release?

There will be a waitlist announced when tickets are announced.
Can I transfer my ticket to someone else?

What days will workshops be in 2026?
Saturday, Sunday, and Monday confirmed. Additional potential classes TBD.
Workshops
I'm not sure what level I should register for - what's the best way to know?
Speak to your teacher in your local scene, someone who knows your dancing well. They will be able to best advise you what level to choose.
Do I choose my level before registration?
Yes! Make sure you know what level and role you will select at registration. Ticket numbers are limited for each level and role, so knowing ahead will ensure a quicker ticket day.
What type of swing dance will the workshops be?
Workshops are primarily partnered Lindy Hop and in 2026 there will be solo jazz on offer. There will be other special workshop types up to the teachers.
What will the teachers teach?
The teachers plan their own class content based on their current passion and the students in the class.
Why don't classes have names?
While teachers plan their content in advance, sometimes they may make adjustments based on the students in the class, things they notice on the social dance floor, and other current topics of the weekend. Classes without names allow the teachers the flexibility to tailor their content to the students.
How will auditions work?
TBA
Are there dress-up themes?
Each event will have a theme, which may closely relate to a dress up theme but may also more be a decor and activity based theme. Attendees are encouraged to dress up or down according to their comfort and interest. If dressing up lights your fire, do it! You'll be amongst friends. If it's not your thing, totally okay as well.
Socials
The band starts from 8:00pm. Doors and DJs from 7:00pm.
What are the themes?
Themes will be announced estimated in June.
How long does the band play?
Parking for socials can be accessed directly across from the venue.
Where is parking?
The band at all main events will play 3 sets between 8pm and 11pm.
What time does the band start?
What can I eat and drink at the socials?
TBA
Where can I pick up my merch?
At all socials and workshops. We recommend collecting ASAP.
Other
Will there be t-shirts or hoodies for sale at the event?
No - there will be no extra stock of tees or hoodies to minimise waste. If you want a T-shirt or Hoodie, ensure you order before the deadline of July 31
Can I sightsee the region without my own car?
Unfortunately getting around the region with public transport is a challenge. We highly recommend carpooling with some of the many BDS attendees. You can join the Facebook Group to link up with others. If visiting from interstate, there is car rental at the Perth and Busselton airports.
