FAQ
Should I wait to book accommodation until I get my ticket?
No! It's a long weekend in September and the South West is a very popular tourist destination. Things book our quickly and the prices increase from there. We recommend booking flexible accommodation as soon as possible for the best possible rates. The South West does not have many hotels so B&Bs and motels are good options. Check out the Travel page for discounted Busselton Hilton bookings.
How many tickets are available?
Over 400 tickets will be available. There is an absolute maximum capacity of around 450 people.

Speak to your teacher in your local scene, someone who knows your dancing well. They will be able to best advise you what level to choose.
Do I choose my level before registration?
Yes! Make sure you know what level and role you will select at registration. Ticket numbers are limited for each level and role, so knowing ahead will ensure a quicker ticket day.
What type of swing dance will the workshops be?
Workshops will include partnered Lindy Hop and special workshops will include topics like solo jazz, live music workshops. You can expect special workshops to involve some teacher pairing changes/swaps. There will be other special workshop types up to the teachers.
What will the teachers teach?
The teachers plan their own class content based on their current passion and the students in the class.
Why don't classes have names?
While teachers plan their content in advance, sometimes they may make adjustments based on the students in the class, things they notice on the social dance floor, and other current topics of the weekend. Classes without names allow the teachers the flexibility to tailor their content to the students.

Can I sightsee the region without my own car?
Getting around the region with public transport is a challenge. We highly recommend carpooling with some of the many BDS attendees. You can join the Facebook Group to link up with others. If visiting from interstate, there is car rental at the Perth and Busselton airports.
We will also be organising some tours for BDS attendees on the Tuesday after all the action.
