The Oz Big Band are dedicated to recreating the music and energy of the great big bands of the 30s, 40s and 50s. Formed in 1985, this 18-piece outfit has become popular amongst the Lindy Hop and Swing Dance scenes around Australia for its authenticity and high energy.

Accomplished multi-instrumentalist/singer/songwriter Mark Turner and jazz/blues singer and songwriter Jessie Gordon started playing music together as teenagers. More than 20 years of friendship have ensued, with music as the cornerstone of their lives.

Boogie Down South is organised by South West Swing, a not-for-profit swing dance Organisation in Australia's South West.
Boogie Down South and South West Swing acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we meet and dance, Wardandi Boodja. We pay our respects to elders past, present, and emerging and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
