Four days of events! Social dancing by night with bands and DJs and wrapping up with culture and picnic.
FRIDAY – SEP 20 – 7pm
Lucy Iffla at the Cowaramup District Club

Lucy has worked alongside esteemed international and National artists in Paris, New York and Japan. Most recently Lucy received a nomination for Best Vocalist in the WA Music Awards, a top 10 nomination in the National Wangaratta Jazz and Blues Awards and the 2023 Perth Jazz Society Recording Opportunity. Lucy’s love for culturally diverse and heart warming music has developed her sound to showcase an elegant and timeless voice beyond her years.

DJs Kylie Cooper (South Australia) and Stephen Fee (Perth) will keep us dancing through the night at our Cowaramup home base, the Cowaramup District Club (an annual traditional venue). Food and drinks available for purchase.

SATURDAY – SEP 21 – 7pm
9-Fifty Local at Cowaramup Hall

This eight-piece swing band wows with swingin’ rhythms, a 3-piece horns section, and the incomparable Lucy Iffla on vocals. This band will make your toes tap, hips sway and put some boogie in you jive pants, playing the great music of 1930s and 40s like Count Basie, Duke Ellington, and Ella Fitzgerald and more. Local jazz dogs Ricki Malet, Ben Collins, Mace Francis, Dan Garner, Bob Tweedie, Alistair Peel and Greg Brenton will keep the energy up while you’re getting down on the floor.

DJs Charlotte Round (Perth) and Chris Le (Perth) will keeps us grooving before, between, and after sets at our local town hall, the Cowaramup Hall. Drinks will be available to purchase with BYO food/snacks.

SATURDAY LATE NIGHT – 12am
DJ Battle!

Join us for our late night afterparty where four talented DJs will battle it off to be crowned “Best in Bounce”. Late night master, Josh Wells will keep us entertained with games and all things battle to keep you grooving ’til the wee hours. How will the winner be crowned? Show up and vote with your feet for your favourite DJ! Snacks will be available through the evening.

DJs: Yunita Dewiyana (Jakarta, Indonesia), Ben Hawks (Perth), Darrell Horrocks (Perth), and Josh Wells (Perth).

SUNDAY – SEPT 22 – 7pm
Jessie Gordon at Eight Willows

Jessie is a very sun-shy Perth red-headed jazz singer who enjoys swing music, dancing in her kitchen to Otis Redding, eating cheese at any given opportunity and singing in the shower and every other (shaded) venue. Her main musical passions are jazz, blues and roots music.

She has toured Australia, America, South East Asia, Germany, France, Spain, Poland and the UK. She is also a 20 time Fringe World Music and Cabaret Award winner. 

We finish off the night at the stunning Eight Willows Retreat, tucked away in the forest just north of Cowaramup. Full and Social passes come with a free drink on entry. Additional drinks will be available for purchase and some light grazing boards available. We recommend eating before this event where possible.

DJs Kar Heng (Malaysia) and Yunita Dewiyana (Indonesia) will get us on the dancefloor early and keep us groovin’ between sets.

Culture Chat: MONDAY – SEPT 23 – 12:30pm
w/ Tyedric and Breonna at the Cowaramup District Club

This is a *free* panel discussion event where we dive into the history and culture of Lindy Hop and how we can be inclusive of this in our own scenes with Tyedric and Breonna, MC’d by Jessie Gordon. There will be a Q&A to follow where you can ask your burning questions.

Farewell Picnic: MONDAY – SEP 23 – 1:30PM
Pioneer Park (north side at the stage), Cowaramup

Wrap up the weekend with a BYO picnic directly after the Culture Chat at the stage in Cowaramup’s Pioneer Park (directly across from the Cowaramup District Club). Grab some food and come on down to wrap up the weekend, reflect on all our learnings, and reminisce in good times just passed. There will be some tunes if you still have some energy left in you for dancing on the stage or in the grass. Bring your own picnic blanket, towel, and any other items for your comfort.
